Siesta Key Public Beach
Selected "Best Beach In America" in 2011, Siesta Public Beach is the area's most popular destination. Accessible from South Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, this beach on Siesta Key offers everything a beachgoer could want, beginning with that magnificent soft white sand that has given it an international reputation.
The wide public beach stretches from the Gulf of Mexico to an attractive pavilion that houses restrooms, a snack shop, a souvenir and beach-gear store and even a place for getting beads in your hair.
It offers all the amenities any family could want, with beach volleyball nets, shaded picnic areas and grills, a playground and plenty of restrooms. And you can walk a few miles south along Crescent Beach to Point of Rocks.
There's a large parking lot, but it can easily fill up during tourist season, and there are limited options nearby.
